Title: Number One. Love Him.
Author: Rae
Notes: Three drabbles held together for a tale. Ie, a story in three hundred words, exactly. H/D fluff.
Summary: The first anniversary has come around.
Number One. Love Him.
Harry is not a reader. Draco doesn't mind this, because this leaves the run of the library to him. Harry always asks before taking a book down, as if they belong to Draco and Harry hadn't inherited them along with the house. Draco knows where each book is, which is how he notices when Romance Through the Ages goes missing.
It is on the tip of his tongue to ask Harry about it, when realization hits and instead of going in search of his lover, he finds a calendar. Their first anniversary is in two days. He'd forgotten.
* * *
It's not that Harry looks down on romance; it's simply that he has no idea how to go about it. If he'd had to depend upon his romantic spirit to woo Draco, they would never have gotten together, let alone lasted three hundred and sixy-three days.
The book he snagged from the library isn't helpful at all, either. Flowers and chocolates are well and fine for books, but Draco has the oddest allergies and is fickle about sweets, and Harry is not willing to take that chance. Moonlight rituals, candles, incense... The choices are endless, and so is his headache.
* * *
Draco has flowers and chocolates ready, which they share. Harry lights the candles and incense by which they make love. Between the preparing for their anniversary and the celebrating of it, it is not until five minutes past the midnight hour that either man gets out the requisite, "Happy Anniversary."
The book is returned to the library without any mention of it between them. Draco takes it down several days later and inserts a piece of parchment that will be visible to whoever reads the book next. "Better Ideas," it says at the top. Number two is "Shag him senseless."
