So, I went ahead and signd up for 50_smutlets and nabbed the pairing "Snape/Lupin." Because, while I don't have an OTP, it's one of my favorite pairings and one of the few Isis will beta for me. Some of the others are questionable. :D I've had this up since I asked for the pairing, but waited to post the table publicly until the site mod gave me the go ahead on the pairing.

The original challenge was, I think, to write in second person... I adapted that for my 'short short' story, and... this is the result. Possibly creepy, definitely macabre, it is one of the things I have written of which I am most proud.

Word Count: Overall, the fic comes to about 17,000 words. Which makes it about the longest thing I wrote in 2008 (except I wrote 1/3 of the story in 2009.)
Random Author's Note: Upon posting the tenth chapter, I decided it's my favorite of the story. Nothing much happens, nothing grand, but there is something about it that strikes me, pulls me. *shrug*

I wrote a cute/lovely/angsty/cool 500 words flashfic, inspired by a few songs on the play list. First person, which I sometimes fall into but rarely actually like. LeeGaara, with, like, ouchiness to it, which I also sometimes fall into, but seldom choose to write.

It was done. Spellchecked. Whittled to 500 words exactly. Not 499, not 501. 500. With clear, clean sentences. A nice beginning, a hard hitting ending. I saved it. I went to get the links for the song so I could post them as well. I cut and paste them and a header into the fic folder, and saved it... made a change to the author's note, saved again.

Realized belatedly that during the first cut and paste, I had copied over the fic, and that during the second, I had made it irrecoverable.

Fic. Death.
