Word Counts

I've missed two days out of six, though I only missed one day completely. That's not too bad for me, really. And I've had a couple days of surplus words (which I cherish as much as my 'just enough' and my words of shortage) which will give me a seven thousand (minimum) word count for the week. Which is my secondary and, er, 'long term' goal.
So Thursday was a bust, but only because I had the nephews for the day before, that night, and all of that day. Adorable, of course, and fun as always. We played our version of Dungeons and Dragons (which to us is collective story-telling with dice, Aunt Rae doing dorky things to her voice, and a lot of laughter.) There were also video games, at least for a time.
Anyway, due to my productivity this week, the water demon story and Tatrin's story are at the same approximate word count of "over 5k and under 10k." I had plans for the water demon at one point, but recent events have made me wonder. I like the story, though, so I think I'll still finish it (and finishing is looking more and more likely every time I add a thousand words, though the negative word count earlier this week, where I cut more (old) words than I wrote still grates on me. I've worked on that a bit today, just to get the weekly total for that story back into the positive numbers, whether they be single-, double- or triple digits (and no, that's really not asking for much. :D)

Not posting is driving me insane, and yet I can feel the push from it, because to share, I have to finish it... and then I'll want to spell-scrub, and then I'll want

Right. I'll stop plotting and planning now and actually get something done, instead.

on 2006-08-20 03:10 am (UTC)Just keep at it, post and ask for help (so that way it's okay if it's "not done") and you'll do fine.
